Dormant Bitcoin Wallets Reactivate After 15 Years: Is Satoshi Involved?

Five long-dormant Bitcoin wallets, originally mined in April 2010, have moved 250 BTC worth around $29.6 million, sparking renewed speculation about Satoshi Nakamoto’s holdings.

These coins were mined just months before the shutdown of the Patoshi mining pattern, a model linked to Satoshi’s mining activity. Despite the timing, blockchain analysts including Whale Alert state that it’s highly unlikely the coins belong to Satoshi.

Nonce data reveals a pattern inconsistent with Satoshi’s known mining behavior. Researchers also note that Satoshi ceased mining around May 2010, with no evidence of coin spending since. Still, the reactivation of these wallets has triggered market speculation about a potential sell-off ahead of a bull run.

Experts highlight that such movements offer a rare glimpse into Bitcoin’s early days, while also fueling short-term uncertainty in the market. Whale Alert has hinted at releasing a detailed list of blocks possibly mined by Satoshi in the near future.
