Crypto asset inflows approached $2 billion in mid-July, continuing a multi-week positive trend. Ethereum emerged as the leader, attracting $1.59 billion last week, while Bitcoin saw $175 million in outflows.
The surge signals rising institutional demand for altcoins, particularly Ethereum, driven by growing expectations of a U.S.-based spot ETH ETF. CoinShares reported that Ethereum inflows this year reached $7.79 billion — already surpassing the 2023 total.
Solana and XRP also saw strong institutional interest. Notably, BlackRock’s ETH ETF activity and Bit Digital’s $1 billion allocation added momentum to Ethereum’s dominance.
Analysts point to Ethereum’s strong technical support and its growing role in on-chain financial infrastructure. If macro conditions favor risk-taking, a breakout toward $4,500 is possible. However, macro headwinds could trigger a pullback to $3,300.
