Elon Musk Launches XChat with Bitcoin-Style Encryption and Rust-Powered Privacy

Elon Musk has unveiled XChat, a major upgrade to the X platform’s messaging system. Built with the Rust programming language and inspired by Bitcoin-style encryption, XChat promises enhanced privacy, performance, and new features—shaping the future of secure communication.

XChat introduces vanishing messages, giving users the ability to send content that disappears after being read, enhancing privacy. Users can now send any file type including documents, videos, and images without limitation.

Musk stated that the entire architecture was rebuilt from scratch using Rust, a programming language praised for safety and speed. This move aims to eliminate bugs and deliver a seamless messaging experience.

In addition to encrypted chat, XChat now supports audio and video calls, directly integrated into the app, making it a central hub for personal and professional communication.

Musk also hinted at X Money, a peer-to-peer digital payment solution being developed in collaboration with Visa, allowing users to send money across the X platform.

With these changes, Elon Musk aims to transform X from a social media site into a multi-functional ecosystem combining messaging, privacy, and finance.
