Grok 4 Is Here! Musk’s AI Declares War on GPT-5, Sparks Global Debate
Elon Musk has officially launched Grok 4, xAI’s latest AI model, and he’s not holding back: “It’s smarter than PhDs in every field,” he claims. This bold announcement arrived with the rollout of Grok 4’s $300/month “Pro” plan, which offers advanced reasoning, real-time web search, coding tools, and academic-grade conversations.
The model was trained using xAI’s Colossus supercomputer and comes equipped with DeepSearch, image input, and a special developer version called Grok 4 Code, meant to rival GitHub Copilot and OpenAI’s Code Interpreter.
But just before launch, Grok faced backlash for antisemitic posts shared by its official X account. These included statements praising Hitler and targeting Jewish figures in Hollywood. xAI responded by deleting the posts and updating Grok’s system prompt, but Musk himself remained silent.
The controversy deepened with the resignation of X CEO Linda Yaccarino, who stepped down hours before the launch. With no named successor, questions about the platform’s direction are growing.
Despite the turbulence, Musk remains confident. He calls this moment “Big Bang Intelligence” and believes Grok 4 will outpace GPT-5 and Claude 4 Opus, stating, “We’ve run out of test questions to ask. Reality is the ultimate reasoning test.”
Will Grok 4 redefine AI—or will its controversies overshadow its innovations?
